It’s Valentine’s (and Galentine’s) season, and everyone is feeling the love - make sure your nails do too!

January and February are damaging months to your skin and nails. The cold temperature and dry air can leave your hands and feet chapped, cracked, and in desperate need of nourishment.

Check out the top three tips to keep your nails healthy and strong despite the cold winter chill.

1. Use Cuticle Oil

You NEED to use cuticle oil and use it on the reg (not just before you take a nailfie). Cuticle oil is super hydrating to the skin around your nails, preventing cracks that can lead to painful scabbing. It’s also a great barrier for your manicure, which can make your polish last longer.

2. Take a Vitamin Supplement

Sometimes we need a little help from our friends, and vitamin supplements can be your bestie when it comes to nail health. Introducing vitamins such as Biotin into your routine can provide your body with the extra boost of nutrients it needs to make your skin and nails shine. Personally, we are big fans of Killer Nails from HUM Nutrition.

3. Prioritize Regular Maintenance

The best thing you can do for your mani and pedi is to make nail love a part of your routine. This way, your cuticles, nails, and skin are consistently being cared for to prevent chapping and cracking. If your skin could use a little extra hydrating during the winter (we know ours does!), book an ultra-nourishing service, like The Dew Effect. P.S. This is your cue to book your next nail appointment!

At The W, We’re all about showing your nails love every day of the year (not just during cuffing season). See what we’re all about by booking an appointment at one of our shops and following us on Instagram!
